Walking away

I'm usually not so melodramatic.
But as he walked away from me yesterday, before we went out to play in the little turtle pool, I couldn't help but think that this wasn't the last time that I'd see him walk away.
Good grief, I love this little guy -- checkered-swimsuit-covered bum and all.

That brings back a similar moment, as DarlingDaughter sped off down the hill in front of us, just after she'd mastered her bike. I half couldn't bear to watch,- would she keep her balance,- was half proud that she had so much courage - it was a pretty steep hill for a 6 year old- and half sad...she was leaving me behind for the first of many times.
It gets both harder and easier. Enjoy the now! xx

What a sweetie! This brings back memories of my own little ones, who are not so little anymore.
