Tired, time

I haven't been blogging much lately. Some folks have noted a decline in comments, if not visits, and I know my own reading/commenting trends have changed, too. It's not that I don't appreciate what I read. Usually I read it in such a hurry that either I don't have time to comment (or at least that's how it feels) or I'm days past in reading it.

So, the possibility of sitting down to write something that resembles a post, or even just a string of coherent thoughts, most days feels beyond me. I've missed a couple of deadlines recently -- a letter for a mailing, a small writing project -- both of which will be easily remedied this week, probably at the expense of something else. Little things keep telling me that I'm tired, and I'm trying to listen. Really, I am.

It's like attending church: sometimes one goes to worship, other times just to, hopefully, be fed. Some seasons in our life, we want to participate, help in the life of our local church community; during other seasons, we need to just receive, sometimes even stay home.

Unfortunately, just like with blogging, when we aren't "there" as much, others aren't there as much for us either.

Yeah, it's true, PS -- there's a reciprocal component.

And, just for the record... it's not a complaint about a decline in comments, merely an observation and a pondering about my own habits!

Thanks, folks, for the words.

Sometimes it's just easier to read and not muster up anything to say back. And that's totally cool, I think.

While I am relatively new to blogging, I am certain that when this expression becomes a burden rather than an opportunity, you have the opportunity to step back for a while, with the freedom to be in a space of hibernation.

Peace to you in that space, and we will rejoice when share your experience again!

I love the image of hibernating... thanks. It also helps explain the extra that I find around the middle....

I've been tired too -- and the shorter days don't seem to help too much; I get blue.

I read most of the blogs and just don't comment, either, unless it's something really gripping. Or sometimes not even then. =o)

A blogstone. To show I'm reading, no matter what's written.

I am glad you are able to read the warning signs. It can be a tough time of year - I know it is for me and not just because of the work load.
